The Fal Building for Truro College

The main contractor for the project was Mowlem / Carillion. The project opened as part of the college complex in September 2006. Cornish Steel Structures fabricated and erected the main structural frame and four steel staircases. Also CSS detailed, fabricated and installed a considerable amount of secondary steelwork such as wind posts, internal handrails and additional internal beams for the theatre area.

Truro Technology Park

Truro Technology Park was designed by PDP Green as a bespoke office complex in Truro. The complex comprises of two buildings large office blocks with architectural balconies.

Pickfords Building

The Pickfords Building at Threemilestone was detailed, fabricated and erected for Nicholls Builders. The building has a high roof level to allow high sided HGV vehicles to enter for loading and unloading.

Highway Plant

The Highway Plant building was supplied to I R Burley Builders for the client, Highway Plant as an addition to their existing buildings.

The Eden Project, Banana Drop Off Canopy

The Banana Drop Off Canopy was supplied and erected for McAlpines as a place for the coaches to drop off visitors with an area for them to sit and relax. Internally their are toilets and baby changing facilities. The structure was a reasonably complex design with curved eaves beams around the perimeter of the roof and was supported by eighteen freestanding columns with integral R/W downpipes.

Walkway Construction

A large walkway construction for a new block of luxury apartments at the Hoe, Plymouth. The external walkway services five floors of apartments along the entire length of the block. Cornish Steel also supplied and erected the roof for the main block and balconies and roof for a smaller adjacent block

Kort Nozzles

Made under contract for Kort Propulsion. We have made Kort Nozzles from 1650mm up to 2900mm inside diameter to a tolerance of +/- 2mm. Kort then transport the nozzles all around Europe for installation on ships and fishing vessels.
